Why do you ask that brides NOT shop Secret Closet first?

Brides typically need to try on gowns at several stores before being able to make a decision to buy.  If you visit other bridal shops first, you will be able to compare our low prices, and high quality gowns to the gowns you've seen. If you come to Secret Closet first, you won't have a feel for what the same dress costs at other stores.  By the time you come back, the dress you loved may be gone.

 

Why must you have an appointment to come in?

We are a small boutique with a large selection.  Not only do we manage customer flow to ensure our dresses are handled delicately out of respect to our consignors and future dress owners, but we also like to provide our customers with a more special, private and intimate dress buying experience.  You won't find customer service like this anywhere else!  

 

What's the biggest reason to buy used rather than new?

Not only does buying a previously loved dress save you hundreds to thousands of dollars, you also have the convenience of taking your dress home the same day you buy it.  Traditional bridal and formal shops have 1 to 8 month lead times for your dress to arrive. 

 

Are all of your gowns used?

No, actually the majority of our gowns are BRAND NEW.  We get most of our gowns from bridal stores who have overstocked items or brides who bought new and had a change of heart.  

What type of discounts over regular retail prices, might I expect to see at Secret Closet?

Bridal Gowns that are new with tags, will typically be priced 30-70% below what you see at traditional bridal stores in California. Special Occasion dresses tend to be 50-60% off retail. Our inventory changes daily, so come and see what we have to offer!

Do you offer alterations?

Yes,  we will refer you to our expert alterations professional for a perfect fit. 

After I purchase a dress from Secret Closet, may I re-consign it?

Sometimes, we do if the gown was new when we sold it and not marked down. 

It depends on a lot of factors.

Will you take accessories?

Absolutely!

Do you offer Prom or holiday dresses?

Yes!!

Do you allow returns?

No, all sales are final and in as-is condition.

When will I receive a check for my dress?

We will send you a check by the 15th of the month following the sale of your items. We will deduct a $1 per check mailing/processing fee from your proceeds.

What if my dress does not sell?
Unsold items must be picked up within 7 days from the end of the consignment period. Any items not picked up within the 7 day window become the property of Secret Closet. Unfortunately we have too many consignors to remind you to pick up. Please note the date your consignment ends as noted on your contract.
